Many find that taking the first step is the hardest. Rest assured, you will not be pressured or obligated to take the next step. We are happy to connect with you by phone or email to see if we are a good fit for you. No pressure. Feel free to send us an email and we’ll be happy to answer your questions and to alleviate any concerns you may have.
We ask that you fill out a confidential form ahead of your first appointment. This helps us prepare for our meeting so that we can be as helpful as possible. This information is typically provided online, through our secure, confidential platform called Jane. All information you provide is held in the strictest confidence.
If you're ready to get started, our therapists will make efforts to meet with you at a time that is convenient. Keep in mind that our schedules can book up fairly quickly, especially for evening and weekend sessions, so it's better to book early for best availability. After logging into Jane, you will also have the option of booking sessions using our online calendar.
Many are taking advantage of virtual therapy services. These are fully integrated into Jane, and easy to access with just a click of a button. This avenue provides great flexibility for session times, and is secure and confidential. When arriving at our offices, you will be greeted at the reception area where there is a place to wait. When your therapist is ready, we’ll find you there and walk with you to the counselling office. Restrooms are available if needed.
Many are understandably anxious about their first visit. We’ll do what we can to ease any discomfort and make it as comfortable as we can. We’ll review our consent and confidentiality policies, as well as fees and administrative items. You’ll be invited to ask any questions, and we’ll be happy to answer them. We do this to ensure that you have all the information you need about our obligations and responsibilities, and have an opportunity to make sure you have your questions answered. Payment is expected at the time of the session, or as soon as possible thereafter. Our preferred method of payment is e-transfer. You will receive an emailed receipt for your records. Also during the first session, your counsellor will review your intake form with you to fill in any unanswered questions and to have a better understanding of your situation so the best counselling approach for you can be determined.
There may be additional protocols or procedures that are required for in-person sessions, due to shifting heath requirements set out by the provincial and federal governments. We monitor these closely, and your therapist will advise you or any changes ahead of your appointment. You will also be required to participate in health-related screening questions prior to your session.
Connect with us through a free 15-minute call. No obligation required.
Take the next step forward and book your meeting with us.
